By tinting the windows of your motor home, caravan or off road vehicle, you will enjoy benefits such as increased privacy, temperature comfort, UV protection, and decreased glare.

Plastic and glass windows do not have similar properties, but they do give you similar problems. No privacy, allow too much heat in, no UV protection and the direct sunlight can make your vehicle uncomfortable.

Window tinting is very popular, but it's made for glass NOT plastic. If you do apply glass window tint on plastic windows it reacts with the heat from the sun and forms bubbles.

Most Motorhome windows are made of polycarbonate. This window type tends to expand and contract when heated/cooled and due to that they emit gas. Most glass window films do expand too. However, the problem using glass window film, is that the adhesives are not designed to move the same as the expanding and contracting plastic. Therefore, at some point the adhesives will cause issues.

Johnson Laminating and Coating, received requests for a Dyed product that could be installed on the plastic windows of vehicles. So, they designed Plexshade 10%, a tinted plastic window film that uses a two-ply dyed construction and a new adhesive formula.

The solar properties of this product are: Visible Light Transmission 10%, Interior/Exterior reflectance 5%, Glare Reduction 88% and Total Solar Energy Rejection 41%.
